Powerful Greek goddess of the three paths, guardian of the household, protector of everything newly born, goddess of witchcraft & magic, knowledge of botanicals, necromancy, ghosts and sorcery.
Hecate (Hekate) has often been associated with the stereotype of green skin, long nose, and warts, her story is more of the champion. It was she who rescued Persephone from the Underworld, thus restoring Spring to the world.
Goddess Hecate was the only one of the ancient Titans who Zeus allowed to retain their authority once the Olympians seized control. Zeus shared with Hecate, and only her, the power of giving humanity anything she wished (or withholding it if she pleased).
She is prayed to for easing the suffering of birth, by those who are facing Death, and by those who have realised that both birth and death are part of life. Hecate stands at an intersection of three roads that meet. One of her faces looks each way to both welcome travellers. These three crossroads are birth, life, and death, all merging at her feet. Her kingdoms are; earth, sea and sky.
Her Father was Perses and Mother Asteria.
